Coincidentally the middle block of land at Woodley's Motors new site was once owned by Warren Woodley's great-grandfather.
Mr Woodley has a document from Great Northern Railways, dated 1879, informing his great-grandfather a section was to be resumed by the railway for the construction of the northern line.
Mrs Woodley said her husband had been keen on the Marius St site for a number of years, commenting frequently it would be a prime site for their motor dealership.
"It reached the stage about 18 months ago when we were driving past it yet again and the same comments were being made, yet again, and we decided that we should just go for it," Mrs Woodley said.
Mr Woodley says his wife was indeed a long-suffering business associate.
"It seems every time we complete one project and get out of debt, something else comes up and away we go again," he said.
He acknowledged the practical and moral support of Mrs Woodley throughout the whole project.
