Visions of the past and future for Woodley's Honda.
A vision of the past and a vision of the future for Woodleys Motors.

Woodleys & Honda a new era in Motoring

The new Woodley's Honda Showroom fronting Marius St, opposite the headquarters Woodley's Motors is a masterpiece of modern technology and a credit to this thriving Tamworth based automotive organisation.

Woodley's Motors was founded in 1922 by Harry Woodley, who passed the organisation onto his son Neville Woodley, and then in turn to his son Warren Woodley.

Current dealer principal Mark Woodley, the fourth generation of the Woodley family to be involved in the automotive industry in Tamworth, said Woodleys Motors was honoured to have been associated with the Honda organisation for the past 30 years.

"Honda is one of the few car manufacturers left in the world today that is completely independently owned and is very proud of this fact," Mr Woodley said.

"They pride themselves on their quality engineering and being leaders in the field of technology, performance and safety."

The new state-of-the-art Honda showroom has an abundance of natural lighting let in by attractive glass-panelled walls, with a modern waiting room, comfortable lounge and video facilities.

The showroom has something no other dealership in the region would have - a safe children's playground, where mums and dads can inspect the vehicle of their choice, knowing their youngster is perfectly safe.

Mr Woodley said Woodley's Honda sales manager Adam Bailey played a big hand in its development, as the showroom evolved from early sketches drawn by him.

Honda Showroom

THE new Honda showroom, as a valuable part of the Woodley's Motors group, is a state-of-the-art building that has been specifically designed to show off the features of the remarkable Honda cars and four-wheel drives and to help customers in their choice of which vehicle suits their purposes.

Mark Woodley, dealer principal of Woodley's Motors, said due to the success and growth of Honda products in the last few years, they chose to build the new Honda showroom giving these popular vehicles their own space, opposite their existing premises in Marius St.

Now Woodley's also have its Hyundai dealership on the corner of Hill and Marius streets, just up from the Honda showroom, and its other well-known franchises Volvo, Jeep and Mazda in the original Woodley's Marius St premises. Mr Woodley said the new Honda showroom was of state-of-art design, taken off sketches done by its sales manager, Adam Bailey. It has evolved from there into the most modern showroom of its kind in the north-west.

With reverse cycle air-conditioning throughout, the showroom has a special children's playground where the youngsters can be entertained while their parents are looking at vehicles or going on a test drive.

With plenty of natural light, due to the presence of attractive glass-panelled walls, modern waiting lounge and video facilities, the roomy yet extremely comfortable Honda showroom is a credit to the Woodleys organisation.

Four generations

DEALER principal of Woodley's Motors Mark Woodley is the fourth generation of the Woodley family to be involved in the motor industry.

Woodley's Motots was established in 1922 by Mark's great grandfather Harry, followed by his grandfather Neville and father Warren, who was also a former mayor of Tamworth.

"I am very proud of Woodley's Motors' association with Honda products over 30 years and even more so of the new Honda showroom," Mark said.

With his family's long association in the automotive industry, Mark has the experience and drive behind him to maintain Woodley's Motors' presence in the north-west and make it even more a force in future years.

4WD test track at rear

WOODLEY'S Honda recently completed a 4WD test track at the back of its new Honda showroom.

Woodley's dealer principal Mark Woodley said the track was originally sketched by their sales manager Adam Bailey, whose talents were also involved in the design of the new high tech showroom. The 4WD test track takes a vehicle through a deep sand pit, over a number of logs, down a steep, rock strewn incline where it shows the incredible safety of the CRVs, as it would have only three wheels on the ground at times, and then up a tremendous vertical, indicating the vehicle's climbing power.

"The entire track was made to demonstrate to potential buyers the incredible versatility and safety aspects of Honda 4WDs," Mark said.

Opening next Thursday

THE new Woodley's Motors Honda showroom will be officially opened on Thursday, March 21 by the managing director and CEO of Honda, Mr Kenichi Abe and director Lindsay Smalley. Also at the opening, Mr Abe will make a presentation to Woodleys Motors for their 30 years of service representing Honda in the north-west. And there will be a late entry when Australian ARL front-rower, Rodney Rowe, from the Melbourne Storm, will sign autographs for fans.

30 years with Honda

WOODLEY'S Motors has a long association with Honda, having been its franchisee as far back as 30 years ago, when it sold those well received Civics, Preludes and Accords which were seen on Australian roads.

They now have an excellent range of the modern day Hondas in 4WDs, cars and the fabulous CRV, which incidentally has been the No1 selling 4WD wagon in the nation for the past two years. There are also three sports cars which include the incredible Honda NSX and the Honda Integra, as well as the seven-seater people mover, Honda Odyssey and Honda's large luxury sedan, the Legend.
